Where Roulette comes from
The wheel goes back to Blaise Pascal's 17th-century experiments with a perpetual motion machine. The decisive change came in 1843, when François and Louis Blanc removed the double zero in Bad Homburg, Germany, creating the European wheel with a single zero – halving the house edge and making roulette the showpiece of the casinos in Monte Carlo. The numbers on the wheel add up to 666.
How it works
Goal
Place chips on numbers or fields and spin the wheel. If the ball lands on a field you backed, you win – the longer the odds, the more.
Payouts
- Straight (single number): 35:1
- Split (2 numbers): 17:1 · Street (3): 11:1 · Corner (4): 8:1 · Line (6): 5:1
- Dozen / column (12 numbers each): 2:1
- Red/black, even/odd, 1-18/19-36: 1:1
Placing bets
- Pick a chip value at the bottom, then click a field – the chip flies over.
- Click between numbers (lines/corners) for inside bets.
- "Undo" takes back the last chip, "Clear" removes every bet.
- "Rebet" repeats last round's bets.
Spinning
"Spin" starts the wheel. The green 0 loses every outside bet – but a hit on 0 pays 35:1 like any straight.
Stakes
You play with your account chips. Winnings land straight back on the account.
Three tips for better results
- 1The European wheel has only one zero – half the house edge of the American one.
- 2Even-money bets pay little but land almost every other spin: good for staying in the game.
- 3No betting system changes the odds; set a limit before you spin.
